Values-first financial literacy for kids and families
Rest Over Riches is a faith-based financial literacy platform and a personal project of Jo Design Co., created to equip families and children with Biblical wisdom for managing wealth. As both the founder and the lead designer, I developed this site to serve as a high-performance brand hub and the primary delivery platform for our Money Explorers online course.
Built on WordPress with LearnDash, the site reflects my hands-on expertise in combining complex e-commerce, curriculum delivery, and content marketing into one cohesive, restorative experience. Because I am the client for this project, it serves as a “living laboratory” where I refine the same financial services web design strategies I provide to my partners in San Luis Obispo.
Goals
- Create a seamless learning and e-commerce experience: Built on WordPress with LearnDash and WooCommerce, the site supports course enrollment, secure checkout, and user-friendly classroom modules. The goal was to ensure parents and children move smoothly from purchase to participation through clear navigation and interactive learning components.
- Establish a trusted digital resource: The website incorporates scripture-rooted messaging and parent-friendly curriculum explanations to build transparency. Every visual and structural element was intentionally crafted to be warm and mission-focused, reflecting the heart of the program.

From Waco to the Central Coast: A Design Transition
While Rest Over Riches is a national platform, its visual soul was born from the natural beauty of the California Central Coast. As a family-run, small design studio, I intentionally built this brand—my own brand—using a nature distilled philosophy, drawing from the muted sands, coastal oaks, and the restorative pace of life found in San Luis Obispo.
The textures and palette you see in this project are a reflection of my own family’s journey. We are currently in the process of relocating to San Luis Obispo in 2027. I am already transitioning Jo Design Co. to serve as a local partner for small businesses throughout SLO County, bringing the same ownership-mindset I used for Rest Over Riches to every local client.
I believe that San Luis Obispo web design should feel as grounded and intentional as the community itself. Whether you are a consultant in Paso Robles or a boutique shop in Edna Valley, I am currently accepting new local Obispo County projects as I prepare to call the Central Coast my family’s permanent home.
